American Samoa comprises the seven easternmost islands of the Samoan archipelago.
Five are volcanic islands with rugged peaks, and two are coral atolls (Rose and
Swains). 10% of the land is arable and 27% is forested. Pago Pago is perhaps the
best natural deepwater harbour in the South Pacific. |
