Alberta . Province Flag - Ratio 1:2 . Print this flag
Flag of Alberta Province,  Canada

Alberta entered the Canadian Confederation as a province in 1905.

The sheild dates from 1907 and was placed on a blue feild to make the flag of Alberta in 1967.

 

 

British Columbia . Province Flag - Ratio 3:5 . Print this flag

British Colombia entered the Canadian Confederation as a province in 1871.

This flag, adopted in 1960, is an amorial banner of the arms, granted in 1906. The sun placed over the heraldic waters represents the province's position on the west coast.

 

 

Manitoba. Province Flag - Ratio 1:2 . Print this flag

Manitoba entered the Canadian Confederation as a province in 1870.

This flag, adopted in 1966, is intended to recall and preserve the old Canadian Red Ensign. Manitoba's sheild is on the fly.

 

 

Newfoundland & Labrador. Province Flag - Ratio 1:2 . Print this flag

Newfoundland and Labrador entered the Canadian Confederation as a province in 1949.

The colours of this flag are intended to represent all aspects of the province, the design, to recall the Union Jack -the previous flag.

 

 

New Brunswick . Province Flag - Ratio 5:8 . Print this flag

In 1867, four Canadian provinces; New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Ontario and Quebec united to form the Dominion of Canada.

This amorial banner was authorised in 1965 and depicts a ship representing shipbuilding, and the lion representing New Brunswick's ties with England.

In 1867, four Canadian provinces; New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Ontario and Quebec united to form the Dominion of Canada.

The oldest flag in the British Commonwealth. This flag is a St Andrew's Cross in reverse colours, with the Scottish Royal Arms.

 

 

Nunavut . Territory Flag - Ratio 9:16 . Print this flag

Officially separated from the Northwest Territories in April of 1999, Nunavut became the first territory to enter the Federation of Canada since Newfoundland joined in 1949. Nunavut is made up of the entire former Baffin Region and mostly all of the former Keewatin and the Kitikmeot Regions.

The flag shows a inuksuk (stone monument) and Niqirtsuituq (the North Star).

In 1867, four Canadian provinces; New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Ontario and Quebec united to form the Dominion of Canada.

This flag, adopted in 1966, is intended to recall and preserve the old Canadian Red Ensign. The sheild is from the arms of 1868 and was the first design to use the maple leaf.

This flag is a modern interpretation of an old French-Canadian known as the Fleurdelysé and was adopted in 1948. The fleur-de-lis is symbolic of France.

Saskatchewan entered the Canadian Confederation as a province in 1905.

This flag was adopted in 1969 and combines the provincial sheild with the Saskatchewan floral emblem, the western red lily.

The Northwest Territories entered the Canadian Confederation as a territory in 1870.
