Morocco's terrain generally is upland plateau or mountain range. Half of the total is semiarid plateau comprising the east Moroccan, Rabat Coastal, and the Saharan high plains. The Atlas mountain system dominates the high relief from the Rif along the Mediterranean, to the Haut (High) and the Anti Atlas in the south. The fertile northeast, northwest, and the High Atlas Plateau provide most of Morocco's cultivated land. |
