lies 44 kilometres north of Tahiti and made up of 13 islets (motus) surrounded
by a outer reef of a miniscule 55 kilometres in circumference. Once the summer
residence of Tahitian royalty, in 1904 it passed to a Canadian family, then sold
to Brando in 1965. An eco resort is currently being planned for the atoll. |
